Modeling and tool development
“A poet should only have one model, nature; only one guide, truth”, according to Victor Hugo (1802-1885). This quote applies to scientists too!
In science, a “model” is generally defined as a simplified, partial representation of reality – “nature” – designed to facilitate its study…in search of (part of) the “truth”!
To put it more simply, we use different types of mathematical models in our risk applications, or more precisely, we implement them in computer models: hazard models, stake distribution models, mobility models, consequence models, etc. Do you need to model a specific risk (natural, man-made or health-related), and would you like a fast, accurate tool?
Is your computing power limited? You don’t have specialized staff to run “heavy” numerical simulation codes?
Our expertise is to equate complex phenomena and simplify them to produce fast, reliable codes (with good predictive capability). We can measure the accuracy of these fast models against experimental and numerical data from the literature or collected by APEX solutions and its partners.
